Frequently asked questions

Is Free really free forever?
Yes. Every core feature — unlimited invoicing, clients, projects, time tracking, expenses, online payments — is on the Free plan with no time limit and no credit card required. We make money when you upgrade to Pro for AI features, and from a 1% platform fee on payments your clients make through Stripe Connect.
What happens when I upgrade or downgrade?
Upgrades take effect immediately and Stripe handles proration. You can cancel or downgrade anytime from Settings → Subscription via the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellations stop billing at the end of your current cycle, and you stay on Pro until then.
Can I use my own payment processor?
Yes. The Free plan supports manual payment recording (cash, check, bank transfer) at no charge. Online card payments require connecting a Stripe Connect account, which incurs Stripe's standard 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction plus a 1% InvoBee platform fee.
Do you have an annual plan?
Not yet — we keep pricing simple at $15/month. If you want annual prepay or a multi-seat business plan, email support@invobee.com and we'll work something out.
What about taxes — sales tax, GST, VAT?
InvoBee currently supports US tax preparation (1099-NEC flagging, quarterly estimates, expense categories aligned to Schedule C). GST, HST, VAT, and state sales tax remittance are on the roadmap. You can add custom tax rates per invoice in the meantime.
Can I import data from QuickBooks / FreshBooks / Wave?
Bulk client and invoice imports via CSV are available today. Direct integrations with QuickBooks Online and FreshBooks are on the roadmap. If you need help migrating, email support@invobee.com — we'll help you get set up.
Is my data backed up?
Yes. All data is stored in PostgreSQL with point-in-time recovery and daily snapshots. You can export everything you've created (invoices, payments, expenses, time entries, mileage, projects, clients) as CSV at any time from the export menu.
